When new users first register on GoliathJobs or JobsOver50 they are asked if they are a “job seeker,” “school” or “employer.” This simple question is important. If a job seeker selects “employer” in error it will prevent them from uploading a resume or applying for a job. It may also lead to a large influx of resumes in their inbox due to the volume of people currently looking for a job.
“For example, we recently had a user register as an employer in error (instead of a job seeker). Because this person mentioned ‘finance’ in her profile, a slew of financial advisors thought this was a Wall Street opportunity. The job seeker thought she was being spammed and had reported this to our customer service. After trouble-shooting the problem, our representative figured out that the user had registered as an employer in error,” says David Mezzapelle, Director of Marketing & Development. “We deleted her account which allowed her to re-register correctly as a job seeker.”
