Be careful disclosing your email address when posting a resume! However, No Worries on GoliathJobs.com!
by Michele O’Connor
This is a widespread issue and one of the safety benefits we promote at GoliathJobs.
According to Jim Pawlik, career author and writer of “Job-seeker beware: Online job searches could put your resume in wrong ‘in’ box,” many organizations are going out of their way to steal and distribute email addresses. Pulling emails off of public resumes is one of the ways they are doing it. Most online boards do a poor job of protecting job seeker information, including email addresses.
On our sites, GoliathJobs.com and JobsOver50.com, all communications take place within the myMessage center. No one has access to public email and no web-spiders can penetrate our walls. This avoids spam and protects the job seekers & employers that use our site. In addition, all employers are verified when they register with us. Only verified employers can view resumes. This ensures job seekers that their resume content is being read by bonafide, ethical employers.
