Employee Layoffs in Education
by Michele O’Connor
Several colleges and technical schools are laying off faculty & staff. Others are closing their campuses. Lower enrollment, tough economic times, increasing rents and population shifts have all contributed to this.
These people have a vast array of talent and could possibly fill roles in Corporate America or at other schools that may be hiring. Personnel that have experience in education are well educated themselves and have great interpersonal skills including public speaking, managing, training and more. These personnel are flexible on hours and could help employers keep their staffing costs low. Others that have served administrative roles are great on computers, data-entry, book keeping, event planning, etc. Career service personnel, for example, are ideal candidates for HR departments.
GoliathJobs is assisting these personnel in every conceivable way. Our mission is to maximize their exposure to all opportunities and HR venues.
