From Bloomingdale’s to Bloomington - great Wall Street Journal article
by Michele O’Connor
Great article in the Wall Street Journal about incoming freshman from New York that are attending schools in the Midwest such as Indiana University. Similar to many funny movies that bring together New Yorkers with people from the rest of the country, this article reflects on the difference in personalities. People from the New York tri-state area (NY, CT, NJ) have a unique personality and move at a different pace.
I am a firm believer that New York is the greatest city in the world. It is good for mid-westerners to get a taste of that. I also think it is healthy for New Yorkers to get a taste of the hospitality, warmth and slower pace of the Midwest.
Like any melting pot, I think it is great to bring together cultures even if it is within the same country. GoliathJobs is a melting pot in a similar fashion. Our site is a perfect blend of job seekers, schools and employers throughout North America. Our “pot” is getting even bigger because we will be offering international functionality by the end of the year!
