Business & Health Expo NY. Another Great Event and Success for GoliathJobs!

On May 15, 2008 staff members from GoliathJobs Stamford attended the Business & Health Expo in NY. The event was held at Terrace on the Park, site of the World’s Fair in 1939 and 1940. GoliathJobs was one of the main exhibitors along the Queen’s Chamber of Commerce (the organizer of the event).
David Mezzapelle, Founder & Director of Marketing at GoliathJobs, had given numerous speeches and presentations. One of his main presentations addressed the Baby Boomer & Retiree demographic. David affirmed to the audience that organizations need to align their efforts to facilitate hiring employees over 50 and/or retaining employees over 50. He feels that this is the only way to remain competitive for the next 20-30 years with the shift in population. His presentation listed the various attributes that comprise the average baby boomer (loyal, flexible, talented, hard-working, stable, etc). At the same time, he stressed the importance of attracting younger people as well (i.e. recent graduates). David feels that this demographic is shrinking and employers will be competing for the best talent.
The event proved successful for many attendees including GoliathJobs.com and GoliathJobsOver50.com. Businesses, corporations, nonprofits, schools and individuals were all impressed with our presentations. These entities were equally impressed with our model and have since registered on our site. We estimated a 95% adoption rate of event attendees to actual registrations. Here are some pictures from the event:
