Be Careful with Video Resumes, Blogs & Social Networking Sites

Jennifer Porter, Media Contact GoliathJobs.comBy Jennifer Porter

Be careful when providing a potential employer with your video resume, blog or social networking site. You may have worked real hard on one or all of these. You may think that an employer will be impressed and consider you over other applicants.

Select a medium that is the best representation of you. Avoid saying or doing something that an employer can miscontrue. You may display a point of view that confuses or offends an employer. You never know what makes people tick.

These are all great services, and a fun convenient way to make the world a little smaller. Just be careful and give the potential employer an objective, simple and tasteful representation of yourself regardless of which medium you choose. The team here at GoliathJobs sees avoidable mistakes that job seekers make daily. In order to not make those mistakes, carefully consider your options when displaying your information.

The old saying “you only have 1 chance to make a first impression” is right on. Always remember that and you will do great.
