The term “Buzz Marketing,” and the famous story about Mark Hughes and his incredible journey at half.com, is an important element of our organization. Mark’s book, “BUZZMARKETING - get people to talk about your stuff,” is required reading at GoliathJobs.com.
The significance of this goes back to the well known fact that word-of-mouth is more powerful then traditional advertising. This has pros and cons. Fortunately the cons don’t exist if you provide quality products, services and customer service. Always be honest with your users and keep them abreast of important information. Full disclosure and honesty are synonymous in my opinion. You do not want bad word-of-mouth.
GoliathJobs.com and GoliathJobsOver50.com are free services. All our users have full use of the sites for finding a job or finding a job candidate. We have to provide the best service and user experience we can. In turn, we stress to our users to please tell a friend. Mark Hughes’s book constantly reinforces that a great experience will provide you with “buzz currency.” Most people will spend that currency by telling others about the great experience. We see that daily and truly believe the theory is accurate.
